Code of Conduct
A standard of conduct is necessary to create an atmosphere at Atlas Preparatory Academy in which each child can feel safe and valued and realize their potential. All students are expected to demonstrate respectful and courteous behavior, fostering attitudes that empower them to take accountability for their actions.
Disruptive and uncooperative behavior seriously interferes with the learning environment. This behavior is an injustice to those who are striving to create a positive learning atmosphere and will not be tolerated.
Everyone has a right to learn. Students are a unique gift to our learning community and must respect themselves and others. Students respect this right to learn by following classroom and school procedures so that everyone can focus on schoolwork.
Everyone has a right to privacy. Students’ bodies are their own possessions. No individual has a right to abuse another by using unkind words, hitting, or touching them inappropriately. Students should demonstrate respect for others by avoiding making comments on conversations not intended for them. Students are expected to refrain from damaging or taking items from the possession of other students.
Everyone makes mistakes. Students and staff should not ridicule or make fun of others at any time. We encourage students to view mistakes as learning experiences.
