About Atlas Preparatory Academy
Welcome to Atlas
Atlas Preparatory Academy was founded in 2001 and has grown steadily within the Milwaukee Parental Choice Program. The 2001-2002 school year began with six staff members and 23 students in K4-5th grade. We have added both students and grade levels each year, and today we have approximately 40 staff members and an enrollment of approximately 350 students in K4-12th grades.
We have a diverse multicultural student body. Transportation is provided to and from school for a significant number of students in all grades resulting in a student population that represents many neighborhoods in the City of Milwaukee.
Atlas Preparatory Academy has always sought to enrich the lives of our learning community. We seek to emphasize the importance of family involvement in the growth and development of our students’ intellectual, social, and emotional lives. As Atlas Preparatory Academy has grown, changes have been made to keep our facilities suitable for learning. The staff has made every effort to improve the education experience of each student by staying current with best-practice teaching methods and technology. Our continuous improvement approach has inspired both staff and students to develop a multi-dimensional approach to teaching and learning and to be more actively engaged in the learning process. Course offerings and outreach programs have expanded over the years.
Leading these changes and developments is the diverse Atlas staff which has grown in number and experience over the years. At Atlas, our multicultural community inspires students to grow as lifelong learners, embrace responsibility, and develop the confidence and skills needed to succeed in a diverse and connected world.
