Monitoring Academic Progress
Students’ academic progress will be monitored throughout the school year. Teachers will contact parents/guardians by phone, letter, or email to update them about their child’s progress, especially if the grade is below average such as a “D” or “F”. Personal and continual communication between teacher, parent/guardian, and student is essential to ensure the best possible educational experience.
Report cards are handed out in the following manner:
Trimester 1 – Parents/guardians can pick up their child’s mid-trimester progress report at the Parent/Teacher Conferences. Trimester report cards will be mailed home.
Trimester 2 – Mid-trimester progress reports will be mailed home. Parents/guardians can pick up their child’s report card at the Parent/Teacher Conferences.
Trimester 3 – Mid-trimester progress reports and report cards will be mailed home.
The report cards for K4 and K5 adhere to the following grading scale:

A student receiving an “I” will be expected to complete any missing assignments and tests within 2 weeks of the end of the marking period. Any incomplete mark will be re-evaluated after the 2 weeks and an accurate report card will be sent home. If the work is not finished within 2 weeks, the incomplete work will be marked an “F”.
