Academics
Academics at Atlas Prep
Atlas Preparatory Academy provides a balanced approach to the teaching of literacy. Students are instructed in best literacy practices that include whole group reading, guided reading, read-alouds, independent reading, shared reading, and writing. We provide small developmentally based instructional guided reading groups where students use appropriately leveled readers as they learn to read. Students are instructed in comprehension, vocabulary and word work, fluency, phonemic awareness, and phonics during their literacy block to enhance their reading instruction.
We strive to meet the individual needs of our students by providing a differentiated approach to education. We encourage our students to make responsible choices for their learning. We integrate literacy strategies across the curriculum.
