School Work Policies

Homework Policy

Each student will receive meaningful homework on a daily basis. This homework must be completed and returned on the given due date. The following is the minimum amount of time your child is expected to spend on academic development, which includes independent reading outside of school hours:

K4 through 2nd grade = 30 minutes

3rd through 6th grade = 45 minutes

7th and 8th grade = 1 hour

9th through 12th grade = 1.5 hours

Google Classroom Procedures

Students are expected to be signed in to their Google Classroom as directed by their teacher. Any assignments and content posted by students in Google Classroom must be relevant to the course and appropriate for the school environment.

Standardized Testing

State assigned standardized testing will be administered to grades K5-12 based on the Department of Public Instruction (DPI) requirements. This testing should be taken seriously by parents/guardians and students. Students should be well rested before the testing dates and eat a good breakfast. Notification of testing dates will be posted at least two weeks in advance.

Cheating, Plagiarism, Forgery

The acts of cheating, plagiarism (to take and use as their own, the work of others) or forgery in connection with school work or assessments will be subject to disciplinary action. The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in assignments or assessments is considered a form of plagiarism.

Parents/guardians will be contacted when this type of incident occurs and the students will not be given credit for the assignment or assessment.
